On Friday morning of November 13th, 2020, Amru Rice has conducted awareness and orientation workshop to rice mill partners and relevant employees on food safety, social compliance, environmental protection and well-being of all stakeholders.
This training course responds to the Amru Rice’s consent to adhere to the working principles set out in the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, which, in general, the BSCI focuses on Business Social Compliance Initiative.
In addition, the training course on this principle also focuses on food safety, which is the prevention of food contamination and prevention of diseases caused by food consumption. Prevention of food safety hazards includes knowledge of physical hazards, chemical hazards, and biological hazards. In addition, Amru Rice also provides employees with insights into workplace organization, hygiene practices, work behavior, health monitoring, warehousing, inspection and operational monitoring, cleaning, maintenance and repair, pest management, product protection, shipping products and so on.
As for the overall Code of Conduct for Business Social Compliance Initiative of amfori principles include the right to freedom of association and the right to protest, equality, health and safety, and special protections for unemployed young workers, debt settlement, ethical business behavior, no discrimination, fair working hours, no child labor, other hazards, environmental protection. The amfori BSCI principles include law enforcement, staff involvement and protection, supply chain management and casecade affect, and grievance redress mechanisms.
